Recap of Monday through Wednesday (post 1 of ? for the day)

It's Friday already!

First off, sorry about the lack of posts during the past couple of days. There were quite a few technical difficulties that we were experiencing, but HOPEFULLY everything is going to work out now. =]

Ok, so recap of the trip through wednesday...

Monday, we took off from LAX at 1:10. Our flight was slightly delayed for some unknown reason. Both flights went well and were uneventful. There was not too much turbulence--Matt was very grateful for that. Premonition (2007) was one of three movies that was shown during the flight. The team voted--and it was unanimous--this is a movie that you absolutely, positively, most definitely must see... if you want to be confused beyond all reason, frustrated beyond belief, and if you want to waste two hours of your life. =] And to top it off, the airline started showing the wrong movie ("Next" 2007), but Virginia petitioned for the movie to be changed to the correct one. -__-

When we finally stepped off the plane in Okinawa, it was no longer Monday, but Tuesday. We were greeted by 17 members of both Higa Sensei and Agena Sensei's churches, along with Mike and Mary Jo Wilson and Jeffery Sonnenberg, our in-country contacts from Asian Access.

Wednesday we were SUPPOSED to go to a youth camp through Thursday evening, however God had other plans. There was a mild typhoon that went right through the path that the ferries take from Okinawa to the island that the youth camp was at. So Wednesday we had a planning meeting with the pastors of both churches along with the Wilsons and Jeffery.

Wednesday evening we went to Higa Sensei's church because the youth (from the youth camp) spent the night there after being evacuated from the island. We spent the evening worshiping, playing ice breakers and listening to a brief message. Worshiping was very cool...especially when the worship team started playing "One Way." We tried teaching them the hand motions for the chorus (One way/Jesus/You're the only one that I could live for), but apparently the last line doesn't translate into Japanese as well and the last word of the line is "live" instead of "for."

Anyways...I realize that may not have made sense...hehehe... Thats it for the Monday through Wednesday recap...The Thursday recap is next!...
